You should be able to find out a lot of information with the search function. I think the 96' and older have a metal 20 gallon tank, and the 97' up have a plastic tank. Some packages came with smaller tanks also. At one point the fuel pump switched from being in/out of the tank to out/in. Sorry I don't know more, but I would assume whatever years had the pump inside is not compatible with the ones with it outside. Please do research because I'm sure a few of my facts are slightly off
