I fixed my heating problem. Come to find out all i had was a bad wire around the blower motor. Replaced the bad part and everything works great. I even have all 4 speeds. Thanks to everyone who helped me out I really appreciate it.

Mine is also fixed(updated some other heater thread on here). The switch got replaced and i've found I have LO and HI speed only. I'll suffere through it cuz i'm not payin' 40$ for a resistor. I'll "get" one at the junkyard my next outing.

Guys replace the blower motor resistor.......the switch is seldom the problem....high resistance is normally what melts the connectors.

Where exactly is that located? I thought it was on the blower motor itself? But it looks like wires plug into it?

Stand outside with the passenger door open and look under the dash. Should be next to some round vacuum plunger/diaphragm thingie. Sorry i'm so technical.
If you take the blower motor out of it, you can see the back side of it(springs) when looking into the hole.

i dont ever buy anything electrical from the junkyard, chances are its just as bad as the part i have. and most jy's dont take returns as far as i can remember.

With age the lips that are supposed the seal the plug into the blower get hard and don't seal so they will let water in.

Here is my story: My jeep had no heat. The blower would not turn on at all but when i moved the climate settings, it sounded like it was working just that the blower wouldnt turn on to blow the air. So I took the climate control out and there it was, the pigtail to the fan switch was melted, so i opened up the switch and found that there is 3 little springs holding the contacts together. One of my springs was out of its place rolling around. Im assuming it was making a short causing excess current which then melted the connector and stopped the blower from working. So im replacing the switch and hoping that solves my problem

Ok so on the postal jeep I work on, the low and med. low fan speeds don't work at all but med. high and high work fine. The fan switch thing behind the dash has been replaced with no results. So is it the blower motor resistor? And if it is, where can I find it on the jeep? Sorry for the questions I'm not familiar with working on the jeep yet, but I do have a repair book.

Sorry to pull this one out of the grave yard but wanted to see if anyone had an answer to replacing the melted connector.
My BMR burned out a few days ago, so I went and bought a new one, pulled out the old one only to discover that the old connector had melted down as well.
Any solution to replacing or rewiring the connector?
Thanks in advance...
