It's called a "space saver" spare. The name should explain it for you.
Read through the thread. If you run bigger than a 235 or 30" on a stock Cherokee YOU WILL RUB. IT may only be on the LCA's at full lock, but you'll rub.

Last time I was ride checked by the cops at the local coffee shop, my donut spare went missing??? 30 x 9.5-15, 235 75-15=29" Have run both, with fresh stock springs (no sag) on stock 7" cast rims, no rub, the 31's were within 1/8th of the lower control arms at full lock. Rear 30's rubbed on bumps when I had 800lb load in the back (work). On that XJ today with 3.5 lift, I run spydertrax 1.25 wheel spacers to prevent the control arm rub, 31x10.5-15 on 7"stock cast rims. They stuff right into the wheel wells on full articulate and just rub the mud off. Your 30's or 235's will do just fine at the OEM height.

Hey what are those cops looking at in the back of my jeep? They have coffee in their hands, why are they looking hungry? Hey where's my fresh donut spare gone?

see this is where metric tires **** me off cause a 30x 9.50 is just that and a just saying a 30x10.50 or even 11.50 wouldn't be taller just wider so why does a 255/75 not just wider but taller than a 235/75 cause the 75 which is ur sidewall height the same i think its

The side wall height is not the same... it is 75% of the width.. if the width changes and the aspect ratio stays the same (75%) then the height changes.

ahh that makes sense so what your saying is like a 235/75 uses 75% of the 235 width as the height and a 255/75 uses 75% of its width as the height its going to be taller ok well thank you for that info it clears things up
