Yer fine. Just fill it with 50/50, let it idle and top up as needed till it's up to temp. I suppose you could make sure the recovery tank is at least the lower mark. Then put the cap on and check it for a day or two.

Just to clarify a little......let it idle with the rad cap off, keeping coolant level full to the top. While idling, the stat will eventually open, and coolant/air will burp/flow out of the neck of the rad. When that occurs, install a new rad cap. Re-check coolant level in the rad, motor COLD, for several days and add coolant as needed. Coolant level in the bottle should be about 1/3, motor COLD.
