Default Best Oil Filter

Getting ready to change oil, maybe to the Rotell. Opinions please... best (reasonably priced!) oil filter to use in 95 XJ 4.0? Thanks

Wix or Purolator. With synthetic I use a Mobil 1 filter. NAPA Gold is great too.

I've always gone with FRAM filters. Good filters and dirt cheap at W-mart.

here's the only real info on oil filters there is. i searched for weeks to find info and this is it:

http://www.knizefamily.net/minimopar...ence.html#fram

fram seems to be one of the worst. wix is what i use, or i get mopar at walmart somehow. napa gold and carquest blue filters are made by wix.

if you change it regularly it shouldn't be a problem, but i've taken a handfull of cheap filters off that were loose inside.

also pay attention to the key parts that are made of cardboard on cheaper filters as opposed to metal springs, and the amount of filter media in the filters.

Now that's some good information and the link at the bottom on his recommendations seals why I use the filters I use..

Ironic choice of words since Fram doesnt actually get any dirt or particulate out of your oil. You might as well save your money and not put any oil filter in if you're going to use Fram. Purolator, Wix, Mobil 1, are all good ones.

I use the Jeep mopar MP 090 filter. I dont seem to have any ill affects with it, and I use Mobil 1's 0 weight advance fuel economy, full synthetic blend for the oil.

best regards
Mike.
