If it sticks to the plastic, I would think it would be cool to do up the whole thing.

On second thought, I agree with rewster. I'm not too excited about the open sides of the capless bumper, but it makes sense and would probably make your wheels look wider. It is worth trying for a week or two first. Hey, have you added your lift yet? I thought it was done on your build, but your posts say the lift is "in storage for later install."

Here is my White XJ, likes yours. I used spray on bed liner on mine, I liked the look. Of course I no longer have my end caps, so I would say, do the bumper, and then see how that looks. Maybe go from there on deciding to do the end caps or not.

i don't know don't do it unless you are going to lose the end caps front and rear. even then i would do powder coat first if you can afford it.

If I'm not mistaken the endcap on the 97+ mounts similarly to the 96- in that there is a bolt that comes from the front of the cap directly back and is kept from spinning freely by the plastic cap itself. That being said, be careful when removing it as you don't want the cap spinning freely and you will want to pull the cap straight out when removing.

If I'm not describing it clearly, this will make sense when you are pulling the caps off.

no they are different they have 2 small bolts in the rear then you slide them straight back the front have a few hidden in the bumper that you have to get from the bottom not very hard unless they are rusted or have been replaced by different hard ware by another owner like some of mine had been
