Optimas rule if you 4 wheel alot.. no liquid. They can be mounted any way and bounce all day without any bad side effects.. which isnt true of a liquid battery. Also they charge and discharge faster due to the cells they use which is important especially if you have extra lights and accessories.

id get which ever has the best guarntee. I read some where that there was one major manufactor that made most of the batteries. Climate also has alot to do with how long a battery will live for. heat kills batterys.............

I got mine from oreilleys. its a truck sized battery, weighs as much as i do, and i had to do some 'finessing' to fit it in. it touches the fender on one side and the alternator on the other...just barely fits. 880 cca, and 1040 at normal temps, with a 3 year warranty i think. not too shabby for 85 bux

Get the best battery you can afford! I have ran the gammet from dirt cheap to optima. Im now on my 2nd red top- the last one finally gave up after 12 years! I got another one for under $ 200 and can tell you its worth it. Buy what fits YOUR budget, and save for something better.

A couple of months ago I needed a new battery and wanted a good one. After a little research I found a Consumer's Reports test where the WalMart Everstart Maxx finished in the top three (above DieHard Gold). They discharged/charged the batteries 3,000 times. For $75 and a 3-year free replacement and another 6 years pro-rated how can you beat it? I bought one the next day and got a 770 CCA battery in a very small size.
Today I was in my local WalMart getting some tires switched around and asked the manager if there were any problems with the batteries leaking. I mentioned that mine was leaking slightly on the top edge. He looked at it and without even asking they through a brand new one in.

Optimas are great batteries but way pricey. The rest generally are built from remanufactured plates that have been flushed and fresh acid poured in (hence your core trade in). Interstate i believe are new cells more often than reman's as are die hard (although die hards can be remans depending on demand). Pick what you want and can afford. Ive had Interstate (lasted well) and ive also ran the Duralast gold from AZ in several vehicles without trouble. Flip a coin if you will.
