The cost to complete drain all of the ATF from an AW4 and refill with a hi-dollar ATF makes it a waste of time and money. To do it right you'll need to drop the tranny and pull the torque converter, drain it or just replace it, reinstall everything...then pour money into it.
Do a poor-mans flush.
Drain the pan (about 2-3 qts) and refill.
Drive around the block a few times.
Drain the pan and refill.

Drain the pan, pull the pan and filter. Clean the filter with brakeparts cleaner and reinstall it along with a new pan gasket. (No, you don't need to replace the filter unless it's damaged.
Fill the tranny again.
Adjust the TV Cable
Your done.

Royal Purple max atf get it from advance with a discount code..
I would throw some trans tune seafoam in the current fluid in there drive it a day or two, then do a drain refill with a dex III/merc valvoline high mileage drive around a day, then drain and fill with your royal purple and let it ride. Make sure you drain the fluid right after you drive around, you want to get the old oil out before to much settles back down. Be cautious though the oil will be hot but wont be to bad after a normal trip around town.

Dexmerc. Thats what this transmission calls for. Originally it was DEX II, but thats not made anymore. I just did a complete fluid and filter change. It's actually quite simple to do.
First and foremost, a complete servicing on a transmission that is older and/or hasn't been regularly serviced can cause the transmission to fail. The transmission can become dependant of the sludge and dirt that is in the for sealing. You service at your own risk and I am in NO WAY liable to any issues that may occur.
Drop/drain the pan and change the gasket and filter.
Then top off your transmission. Then trace the cooler lines from the trans to the radiator and disconnect the return line from the radiator. Hook up a length of hose to the radiator and put the other end into a 5 gallon bucket. You will need to make sure you have a good supply of DexMerc on hand and ready to go. Start the motor and let it idle. The transmission fluid should start flowing from the hose into the bucket. WHILE it's coming out keep adding new trans fluid. DO NOT LET THE TRANS RUN DRY! As long as you keep adding steadily that wont be an issue. When the fluid from the hose stops running dirty red and starts running a nice clean bright red, shut the motor off. Reconnect the cooling line and top off as needed.
If it's an older trans, you may also want to add something like lucas for the trans.
To do this job right you MUST replace the filter. To not replace the filter is cutting corners. DO NOT use brake cleaner on your old filter then re-use it. Brake cleaner is designed to also break down oils and can harm rubber. If you clean the old filter with brake fluid and re-use it, your risking it breaking down your transmission fluid and harming vital rubber seals inside the trans mission.
The following video does a good job at showing you how to do the flush.
