Default auto tranns flush or not to flush that is the question

ive heared a lot of mixed things about flushing the tranny verse just changing the filter, gasket and fluid. how do you guys fell about this.i know when you just drop the pan you only get 1/3 of the fluid out ,but for the price you could probably change the fluid, filter and gasket 3 times. so any coments or opinions will help me chosse which to do. the jeep has 140k mi
but ony 20k on the tranny

I have never had my trany flushed on any veichle I have had,but that is because I am not convinced it is that big of a deal for the money. Trany fluid goes bad when your trany starts to slip or overheat.

In my opinion bad ideal. When I was over a vehicle maintenance shop for the company that I worked our experience with flushing transmission was not good. We had a lot higher trans failures after flushing than without. We sold the unit and swore off of that practice. The local transmission shop agreed with our findings. Of course just my opinion.

NEVER have your transmission flushed if it has alot of mile on it. Lets say for instance you have 100,000 miles on your tranny. If you know it has never been flushed dont do it because your tranny is effectively dead. It just doesnt know it yet. Again, never flush a transmission with high mileage if you know it hasnt been flushed before or if you are not sure. With only 20k you will be fine to flush it if you want to. Flushing the transmission can loosen particles that can plug your filter/screen and eventually lead to failure. This is especially true in higher mileage situations. Personally I would just change the fluid and be done with it but if you insist on having it flushed i wouldnt let it go more than 30k between flushings. Just me .02. Hope it helps.
