Im new here so I dont know if this is the right colomn to ask this question BUT...

I have a 2001 grand cherokee with 3.1VM diesel and the transmission is starting to fail, and Ive searched all over the internet and cant find what transmission is in the car. all forums only say 44re (only if 4.0l) and mine is not 4.0l. any chance I can get some help on here???

I do think I'll weld it, I have access to a welder, and it will cost me $0. A replacement would be minimum $160.

I have a 2000 with 182k and when I start it the oil pressure gauge takes a few seconds before it even moves and then it goes right to where it should be. It does have a bit of a tick when it's cold, is this a bad thing or is the oil pressure sending unit going bad?

probably filter is bad. What kind of filter do you use? They have a valve that keeps the oil in the top end.

I'm using a wix filter . There is no grinding or any noise during startup so I don't think it is starting dry. My oil filter adapter is leaking pretty badly, I have the new kit but I tried to get it off with my dad but couldn't. Could the leak create some kind of air bubble?

It still lags even if I run into a store for 5 minutes nd start it up again. Does anyone have any tips for getting the adapter off, I've tried vise grips, allen keys, wrenches with the torx bit in the box end. I have done nothing but bend 3 wrenches.

sorry technically not oem, but didn't feel like making a thread for a simple question. would ZJ rear caliper soft lines work on KJ rear calipers? is the bolt size the same?

i have soft lines for the zj but can't find any for the kj

I bought a 1/2 drive torx socket and pressed the torx part out then used a box wrench with another box wrench for leverage and bruised my hand I pushed so hard on it.

I need some options. I need a new fuel injector for my 4.0 2000 cherokee. Is it better to just upgrade them all at once to the bosch injectors and buy them online or should I just go to a junkyard and see if I can strip as many as I can find that will work for my jeep?

If you're asking my opinion, I'd replace all of them at the same time. I just bought 6 Bosch 3rd generation 4-hole reman injectors from precisionautoinjectors.com for $129.95. My 4.0 runs superbly on them. I replaced my stock Siemans injectors because 2 were cracked. Throttle response is quicker and I seem to have to use less pedal to get it moving from a stop. I haven't had them long enough to get a true fuel usage data yet, but I'm seeing about 3 mpg better average daily driving. It took the PCM about 30 seconds to adjust to the new fuel trim. NOTE; If you buy them, they have a plastic cover over the injector holes. Make sure you remove them.

I was told injectors from Dodge Neon and Ford V6s work, but I'm not pawing thru junkyards looking at Fords when I have no idea what I'm looking at. I don't know Fords and I don't care to. Besides that, I need my jeep NOW!

Hi there newbie here with a question.I am working on my 1993 Jeep Cherokee sport's air conditioning.I changed out the compressor,drier,condenser,blower motor,resistor and the expansion valve.I had the system evacuated first of course and flushed all of my lines.I then had the system vacuumed and refilled.The problem is the compressor is not kicking on.I don't know where the low pressure switch is supposed to be located or what it looks like.My husband removed the old drier when I wasn't looking.A photo would be a great help.Also can I replace it with the system full?
