98 Jeep Cherokee Limited - approx 155K miles. Need Help with trans problem. Put in 4wd and truck would hardly move, shifted back to 2wd and truck moved forward slowly. Trans has loud knocking sound. When I shift to low (1/2) it will proceed as normal and once truck is underway it seems to drive, shift, downshift and hit passing gear all okay. Problem is only when taking off from stop. I am trying to find out what the knocking is, which has gotten progressively much worse combined with drive not working correctly, Truck was operating great before this ocurred. Drove about 50-60 miles Sunday morning, parked for about 3-4 hours, started and drove about five miles when this started. I thought the loose flywheel could be the problem except truck proceeds normally when shifted into low and then manually shifted up into drive going down the highway. Not much else to say just need some thoughts on probable causes before sending to tranny shop and $$$. Please help. thanks

Can all (4) brake lines be gravity bled at once, on a non-ABS 01 xj, to get the air out faster. Providing i keep filling the fluid up.

thanks guys, so the knocking is likely from the flywheel and the lack of power at takeoff is due to the torque converter not spinning correctly? any thoughts on why shifting manually into low help?

NP231 Mode Spring
Pretty sure I have the same problem outlined here:
http://www.b2xj.com/write-ups/np231-mode-spring-install
Basically the transfer case is screwed and I need the part number for the mod spring. (If you click the link part 48 from the diagram).
I can't find it anywhere. I can find almost every other part but that.

2000 XJ 2 door window regulator
Anyone know of a company that can supply a new window regulator for my 2000 XJ 2 door, Drivers side?
My eyes are getting blurry from reading all the ads for regulators that say they will work on a 2 door and DON'T.
Any leads greatly appreciated!

Hey. The trans lines on my jeep are just dangling and are not bolted to anything. Can someone post a pic on how there's is bolted. I'm guessing the rear part is mounted where the inspection plate (mines missing) should be. But what about the front side of the lines. It has a bracket attached to the line but I'm not sure as to where it should bolt to. Only thing I can think of is maybe one of the oil pan bolts.
