It's a fad that sparked up a couple years ago on here. It was played out, and everybody got tired of them. Then some jackass made a plastic grille replacement for JK Wranglers, and now everyone things they're the greatest thing since sliced bread. It cuts down on light output, and it's stupid.

Want to modify your lights? Put in H4s and a relay harness so you can actually see

Last week I had a dead low-beam bulb in my truck for a couple days. These are nothing special... Run of the mill Sylvania 9006. I realized that the single lamp was putting out as much light as both stock XJ lamps.

Absolute junk.

This question is in regard to my 2000 XJ with the pre-cat setup. There's two small cat. converters right after the exhaust manifold, and then a larger, third one downstream. The whole exhaust system is pretty much shot, so I was looking into replacing the entire setup.

Now my question is this...would it be legal for me to swap my computer to one from a Cherokee that has the non-cali emissions setup? I live in Connecticut, so emissions testing is a must.

My thought is that swapping to a system with just one cat will make the exhaust much simpler, less restricted, and I won't have to worry about replacing more O2 sensors as time goes on. Thoughts? I'm looking to keep this completely legal, as the XJ won't be strictly an offroad vehicle.

I don't *think* it is federally legal to switch from the Cali emissions to the 49-state system. It may not raise any red flags in your state emissions testing, but I can't confirm whether or not it would violate federal law. Realistically, I doubt you'd ever be found out as long as it passes emissions testing. That said, I am neither condoning nor condemning the swap.

Its not legal to remove any emission system installed from the factory.

Also not OK to discuss on this forum.

Good to know, thanks. Seeing how restrictive the pre-cats really are would be an interesting thing to find out.

The '94 Service Manual shows thin bushings for the door hinge pins, and how to install them....

Screw it.....today I shimmed the bottom hinge a bit to bring the door up enough to kill the wind noise from the top weatherstrip on the door.

hehe I have angry eyes....and H4s and harness. I see great!

anyways. misfire on cylinder 6.

I have changed spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor. I'm currently running injector cleaner through this tank and probably will next tank as well. The injectors are 703s which i installed around this time last year. Also, at that time I warped my head and had the head shaved/cleaned. the machine shop said the valves looked okay.

I have yet to do a compression test, mostly because I'm afraid of the outcome. I don't feel like tearing apart the engine a second time, but if I do it's getting new valves.

anything else you guys think I could do? or is compression test the next step?

it seems to be kind of intermittent as well.

Paging someone with Canadian experience! (who might I know...)

These caught my eye on the bay of E.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1990-1991-1992-Jeep-Cherokee-XJ-4WD-Silver-Zinc-Slot-Drill-Rotor-Max-Pads-Front-/311288870299?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item487a43359b&vxp=mtr

Obviously they're from Canada, but I was wondering if anyone had any input on them? I'll admit that I like the looks and hopefully would like any increase over stock (I've got regular Rock Auto rotors and gold level pads). The price is good.

If these seem like a winner, are there any issues as far as Canada-USA shipping? Do rotors need DOT approval? Thanks!

Check voltage to motor. Maybe some lube to arms, etc might help. Might have bent parts. Might need new motor.

I thought I read on here but cannot find it again that a wiper motor from a s10 could bolt in and is a stronger motor. If someone that knows could share some knowledge on this that would be great because I am having the same problem with mine.

Default Thinking of selling

So what is its value? Original owner. Perfect condition with 120K miles. New top end. New suspension. New steering linkages. Off-road package. Tow package. No rust. New sound system with sub. New rubber. Bought a Denali and need parking space.

What year? Could probably pull 4000 or more private sale.

I have a question. I'm gonna do my rad & waterpump this spring. I was thinking of doing the crank damper and timing chain while I have the front end apart. Anything else to consider? The timing chain is cheap and the damper tool is useable if I have the radiator out. My engine has 175K on it.
