asd relay buzzing, new cps, still wont start
Well, ive been trying to figure out why this thing still wont start. I replaced the crank position sensor, and it still wont start. Loud buzzing coming from the asd relay under the hood, and the fuel pump also sounds loud, and constantly primes with the key on. I replaced the asd relay and now it doesnt make the buzzing noise, the pump sounds normal now, but still keeps priming.
All of my grounds are good, plenty of fuel sprays from the rail, but it still wont fire. Check engine light and "no bus" are still there. I dont know what to try next. Please help! Thanks

I'll scan it again tomorrow, but i assume no spark. The previous code was related to a sensor which is what led me to believe cps though

Checked for spark, no spark. Plugs are relatively new, and werent soiled. Looked fine. Volts and fuel gauge also do not move. Fuel pump still primes constantly when the key is on.
Any other ideas?
Ive also seen suggestions about a rubber grommet on the hole of the crank position sensor but there was not one when i took it out, or a new one with the sensor. It seemed a little loose inside the hole on the housing.

Are you saying that the new CPS is loose? If it is that can be your whole problem. Did you use the same bolts that where on the old one? I know that the CPS can't be loose or you won't get the proper signal. It's possible that the po put different bolts on there and messed with it until they got it positioned so it will start. One last thing, Where did you get the new cps from? Many have had a new after market cps bad right out of the box. The best would to get an oem from the dealer.

Any chance it could be a bad crank position sensor? Not only was it a $20 ebay sensor, but it also took a slight drop through the engine bay onto the concrete....
And the bolts were the stock ones. Nothing seemed rigged about it. Its tightly secured now, but when i installed it the housing just seemed slightly too big for the sensor. The ebay sensor was the same exact size as the one I pulled out though so maybe im crazy.

No kidding, my dealership is around $100 so ill have to cough it up and try that. Regarding this rubber cps gasket, is there one? There was nothing on the one I pulled out and it ran great for the year ive had it.

There is a plastic that clips on there. But it doesn't hold anything in place as far as I can tell it is only to keep anything from falling in the hole.

Sorry for the delay!
Got the mopar sensor, plugged it in and it fired right up. The 1694 light came on again and I cleared it. Took it around the block a few times, and it ran great. Turned it off and tried to start it again and now its doing the same thing, no start.
Any other ideas? This is getting ridiculous. Thanks
