Default Rear toe off after alignment, anyone know how to adjust this?

I have a 96 XJ and put a 3" RC add a leaf lift on it about 3 months ago and finally got around to getting an alignment done on it. When I went and picked it up they told me that my rear toe was off and that they had no way to adjust it. The rear left is at .27 and the rear right is at -.19

im guess the spec should be close to the front which they set at .01 on both sides.

anyone know any way to fix this and how and what measurements to take?

it was most likely off from the factory. there is no way to adjust. i've put new vehicles on alignment machines with solid rear axles that were out. its no big deal, unless its rediculous and wearing tires.

i didn't even read the measurements, thats fine. you're talking about 1/10th of one degree.

OK, take a look at your rear axle and tell me how YOU think the rear toe can be adjusted on a solid axle. Please, I would like to know.

was thinking since its neg on one side and pos of the other you could loosen the U bolts and shift it a little to bring it more to the center line and tighen them up. not really sure though thats why I asked

easy, and technically it can be shimmed behind the hub. not worth while by any means on a jeep. i've had to shim minivans quite a few times, with a rear axle tube.

if a jeep is too far out, something is bent.

ok, I can't remember from when i installed them but since it was an AAL kit and I had to take the leafs apart, is the leaf with the centering pin one of the smaller leafs and could I have not centered it up right when putting it back togeather causeing it to be off? or is the one with the centering pin the longer one that is bolted up?

your rear axle is fine. if you didn't put the center pin in the spring plate you shouldn't own a wrench. its pretty hard to screw that up. the pin goes through all the leaves, and the pin head sits in a hole on the plate and the ubolts hold it all together.

Yeah JP is right. I do alignments all day long and there is no reason to go messing with the rear especially when its that minimal of a difference. Heck. Really the rear shouldnt have even been included in the readings. At least on our machine thats how it works. You select either centerline or full alignment. Centerline is what should have been done....

alright cool, thanks for the help and the info. I forgot that the pin goes through all the leafs, now I remember that there was a new bolt that came with it for that, just took me a minute to remember and I was trying to think of all the ways possible. anyways thanks again!

bad bushings in the leaf or you could have a broken center bolt that would let things go off
or even the new bolt for you AAL is smaller than the centering hole

don't let thees guys bust your *****
your thinking was right but its just not off enough to mess with
