She did say in #7 that it was the "upper heater hose". I think that's the one she has been messing with.

The term "radiator hose" was used later, which is confusing. The radiator hoses are the two big ones, upper and lower.

The way your post was worded, it sounded like "slit the hose, pour water in it, drive home."

It actually slid right off, that's how I was able to identify that it was the faulty hose. When I looked under the hood it was slipping off. Too pliable, and stretched out.

Or....... You did not fasten it correctly with the hose clamp. Those are the metal bands with the adjustment screws that you tighten around the outlets. If it slid right off your first issue is the clamp.

I would look at lack of tightening properly first, or a stripped clamp from over tightening second.

I hope she didn't use silicone on it, like she wanted to do in an earlier posting this week. I told her not to.

On-the-job training in car repair for the uninformed can have expensive and inconvenient consequences. Gotta study up before wrenching.

It was the upper radiator hose. Wasn't the clamps because I replaced all of the clamps last summer. Air was getting in through that hose, and it kept slipping off been meaning to replace it. Pretty worn.

I didn't want to put silicone on the hose but around the crevices of the heater control valve, but I got rid of it so that's no longer up for consideration.
