Most places stick with 50/50 otherwise any reputable antifreeze will work. Too much water doesnt provide enough lubrication for the water pump, and too much antifreeze causes corrosion problems over time. Keep it 50/50.

its easy, go to were the radiator cap is,, open that up, and now look down, between the airbox and the radiator is a hose lose that up and disconect it, now let gravity do the work, after is all drain out, get your water hose and put some water on the radiator to flush any lil stuff that might be still in there, and when it looks the most clean just let it drain out, and reinstal the lower radiator hose and put your 50/50 till it tops, then with the cap still off turn on the xj for it to circulate if needed put some more in and close cap, check for leaks and your done.
ps: you might want to check your hoses they might be filthy. or bad..

Where are you located at??? The less cold weather you see the less a 50/50 mix is important.
But antifreeze is less able to carry heat than water... Run too heavy of a mix, then the ability to carry heat out of your engine goes down. Too thin of a mix and you have all the problems of a frozen block....

IMHO best bet is a 50/50 mix..I live in oklahoma and that's what I have ran for years..never had an issue..You can get one of those testers and test what temp it can handle on the cold side..

Or running!!! I usually just pull the lower hose off of the radiator. get a big drain pan under it first and don't let any animals drink the coolant.
Sry mine isn't a post 97 am I still allowed to make suggestions???
