Default Altered suspension and insurance?

Does putting a BP on it make the vehicle "altered suspension" and put it in a high risk category? or is my dad feeding me a load of horse ****?

I know in NJ - over 6 inches of lift and you need to do a roll test, otherwise you can't insure the vehicle and get it inspected

If your XJ is paid for drop it to Liability isurance and lift it as high as you want. Not sure about other states but, in Washington there is no roll test required for insurance. The cops just constantly hassle guys with lifted rigs about mud flaps, tires sticking out past the fender flares and bumper height. Now, a rig you're still making payments on or that you want to keep full coverage insurance on is another story. I'd give your insurance agent a call about that.

Call your insurance company and just tell them you are looking for info. There is no way we can answer that question for you. Every state has different laws and all insurance companies are different.

Call your insurance agent. Mine wanted to see the Jeep after it was finished. I had to sign some statements that I knew the insurance co. wasnt going to cover damage to the lift components incase of accident. But my insurance price didn't increase.

I thought it was six, my buddy and I lifted his jeep up to 4.5 and they didn't require a roll test, but when we went up to 6.5 they wanted one.

I called my agent right after I posted this. With my insurance company, this was indeed the case. I don't have to do anything other than send them the receipts in case I file a claim for those damaged parts.
