Did you cut the original harness out? You already have crappy luck with wiring. What'd ya do that for?
To answer your question, No - I don't have a wiring diagram and even if I did I would suggest that you no go by that.
In wiring up a stereo you should have 3 power wires... as follows:
Red- Switched power
Yellow- Constant Power
Black- Ground
First, you need to acquire a multi-meter. You need to find the one wire that has 12volts on it while the key is on but has 0 voltage while the key is off and attach it PROPERLY to the red wire. By properly I mean that you need to either use a butt connector or solder and heat shrink. I prefer solder and heat shrink.
Second, you need to find the one wire that has 12 volts on it when the key is turned off. It should also have 12 volts on it when the key is one. This wire retains all of the memory in the radio. i.e. your presets.
Third, and this is the tricky part, You need to find the wire that has perfect continuity to ground. I say this is the tricky part because there are several wire that could show continuity to ground until the key is on or any other allignment of the stars. To be safe, go ahead and run this wire to a piece of metal and attach it PROPERLY. I would suggest a small blue ring terminal and a self tapping sheet metal screw in this case.
NOW! You should have power to your radio if you didn't pop a fuse when you tried the first go around.
Once you have the screen lit up let me know and I'll show you a simple way to find the proper wires for each set of speakers...
Good Luck
Andy

Here is a diagram.
Like I said before, I seriously suggest that you do not go by this as they are frequently incorrect because some 16 yr old kid sits down and types something out to get cool points... but here you go anyhow.

What's your address so I can get that keyboard on the way?
I'm assuming you said that you couldn't afford the harness. Seems to me that it just cost you a radio.
If you can find the same year XJ in a junk yard then yes you can cut the harness out of it. Just make sure you cut it long enough to splice back onto your wiring in your dash. Just match the colors back up and start over. Once again, for my piece of mind and your safety, please use crimp caps/butt connectors or solder and heat shrink.
The harnesses make installation a 5 minute job and can certainly save some electrical 'whoops'.

Well that's good I guess. At least you didn't buy it new. When you get your hands on a new one just let me know and we'll get it installed minus the blue smoke.

No, Lowrange from Abbeville. I've been to surfside quite a few times tho! I prefer Kure just below Wilmington, NC.
How about you let me know when you acquire a radio. My telepathyer broke last night.
