Default Speaker upgrade help please...

Just bought a 2001 Cherokee Limited, and while I LOVE the truck, I HATE the sound system.* I'm looking to upgrade they sound system.* Now, I'm not looking to break windows, loosen fillings, or rattle an ice cream cone out of a child's hand.* I'm not looking for something to let people know I'm coming from a half mile away.* I'd just like to put together a system that's not to expensive, and produces good clear, crisp music, with some tight bass, not for loud rap, but just general music.* I've had a few vehicles in the past that came with factory "premium" bose setups, or infinity setups, and was very happy with the sound on those systems.* I'm not looking to win any competitions here....just want good clear crisp music I can crank up when I'm on a road trip or when a song I really like comes on.
*
Also I should note, it's been about 20 years since I've really played around with car audio.* I remember very little, and probably knew very little to begin with, so I'm kind of starting from scratch here and could use any help given.
*
Here is what I've come up with thus far:
*
Front:
Amazon.com: Infinity Reference 6030cs 6.5-Inch 270-Watt Two-Way Component System: Electronics Amazon.com: Infinity Reference 6030cs 6.5-Inch 270-Watt Two-Way Component System: Electronics
*
Rear:
Amazon.com: Infinity Reference 6032si 6.5-Inch, Shallow Mount High Performance 180-Watt Two-Way Loudspeaker (Pair): Electronics Amazon.com: Infinity Reference 6032si 6.5-Inch, Shallow Mount High Performance 180-Watt Two-Way Loudspeaker (Pair): Electronics
*
Sub:
Amazon.com: Infinity Reference 8-Inch 1000-watt High-Performance Subwoofer (Single Voice Coil): Electronics Amazon.com: Infinity Reference 8-Inch 1000-watt High-Performance Subwoofer (Single Voice Coil): Electronics
*
Sub enclosure:
Amazon.com: Select Increments 72625 XJ-Pod Jeep Cherokee Sub Woofer Enclosure (Enclosure Only): Automotive Amazon.com: Select Increments 72625 XJ-Pod Jeep Cherokee Sub Woofer Enclosure (Enclosure Only): Automotive
*
*
Basically, 6.5's with tweeters for the doors, 6.5's for the rear sound bar, and an 8" sub with the enclosure that'll fit the opening in the back of the cherokee.* If I'm totally on the wrong track with the above, please let me know.* I don't want to break the bank remember, so $500 worth of component speakers, another grand on a amp and sub, and more on rears and a deck just isn't going to happen.
*
Now, I know I'll need an amp, maybe two, but I know very little about that, so would like some suggestions as to what would best for the above.* Would I be best served to have an amp dedicated to the sub, and another running the other speakers??* I'll also be ordering a new deck, but I'm not so worried about that part.
*
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions you can give!
*

If I were building you a system I would recommend a re audio 5 channel amp for all of your speakers including sub so only one amp. For speakers anything diamond audio for your component sets. And sub wise again anything re audio or jl audio.
And for the best prices on this stuff go to Sonicelectronix.com

You will be fine with the speaker you selected, as for the amp what someone else said about the 5 channel amp is a good idea as to not spend more on two amps. (stay away from kenwood/pioneer)

Thanks for the advice. I've read through some older threads, but it seems to be a difficult subject to get a whole lot of agreement on, as everyone seems to have such different opinions of how loud a good system should be, or which brands are better......

So, if I went with the speakers I originally found, and a 5 channel amp to power them all, how big of an amp would be ideal?? Also, aside from a head unit, would there be any other needed equipment??

Thanks again!!

Head unit with pre outs for front rear and sub, preferably with high volt (4v +), rca's for front rear and sub. Power and ground wire for amp. Fuse and fuse holder for amp. Speaker wire for runs from amp to speakers. (do yourself a favor and run new wire through the door boots)

The re audio 5 channel is 1500watts and right now on sale for 249.99 at sonic electronix and should be more than enough for what you want.

For what it's worth I just did mine and I'm running Polk Audio 6.5s up front (came with the Jeep), Infinity 6929I 6x9s, and the Infinity Reference 8" sub you linked. I'm running a Lanzar 800 watt amp to power the sub. All from Amazon as they have killer prices, especially if you have a Prime membership. All in all, the system sounds better than I expected for the money I've put into it. It will push a nice bass if that's your thing, but definitely not a crazy ghetto-thumper setup. I fashioned my own sub mount in the rear corner, rather than dropping the $100 for the pre-made assembly and it works just great for me.

You can never go wrong with infinity speakers. I just got done doing my system. I did a single 5 channel infinity amp ($230 on eBay) and 6.5 infinity components up front with infinity 5.25 3 ways in the rear sound bar along with a single kicker comp vr 10. The sound is awesome. I too couldn't break the bank. I gave 207 for the amp, 150 for the components, 40 for the 5.25, and 120 for the sub in a box. $520 including wiring and the sound is unbelievable. I can crank it all the way and be clear as a bell but it makes my ears ring. Lol. ??

It depends on how many subwoofers you will have.

Lets say you have one 10" sub then go with a 500-600 watt amp.

If you have two 12" subs depending on the brand and watts it can take go with a 1000-1500 watt amp
