reverse lights

i have a 1990 jeep cherokee, and the reverse lights dont come on

auto or manual? if auto then the backup light switch is part of the NSS. if its stick, then the switch will be on the trans or in the linkage.

Hi Sherrod, welcome to the forum - had a recent issue with my reversing lights, and some dead key problems in neutral and park. Turned out to be the NSS (neutral safety switch). I took it off, cleaned it up and after reinstalling it, everything worked fine. Its easy to find on the right hand side exterior of the transmission casing.
