Default Stereo wiring

So I was messing around with the stereo wiring behind the dash and used a test light, not getting any power to the ignition power OR constant power. Speakers are non existent in the jeep. Was wondering if anyone here have put in their own wiring harness for the ign and const power, and where on the fuse panel wiring?

Not of much help unfortunately, but the only factory wire I am using for my aftermarket stereo is the 12v turn-on (switched) lead.

I wired the main 12v line directly to the battery and grounded to the frame. If you can find a 12v switched lead inside, you could probably do the same.

Why not check fuses before considering running new wires?

Fuses are all fine. There's either a short or a dead wire somewhere and I don't want to tear apart the dash to find it... Just ran some new wires and it works fine

Did you check the fuse for the radio under the hood? Its an I.O.D. fuse.

I actually checked those fuses and replaced as well for safety measures, no-go. Wired it up via battery and made a "plug" to clip into the radio fuse slot. Works fine. Whenever I get the opportunity to tear down the dash I'll look into it.
