97 cherokee shifting problems

97 cherokee shifting problems
i have a 97 cherokee when it shifts from 1st to 2nd it does it hard,it also doesnt feel like it shifts into all gears any sugestions before i install a new trans? i have heard it could be the tps sensor could this be the case? thanks for the help in advance
