'97-'01 door armrest, panel & control module reinforcing?
-I'm pretty sure this would go under OEM and not the Advanced Tech-
Okay I've tried looking around for something of this nature and have not been lucky, so I thought it would be nice to start the topic.
It's hard enough as it is coming across a decent door panel from the junkyard or even online. The guy I bought my XJ from destroyed this poor thing. I've tried to see if it's possible to order the arm rests on the front driver and passenger side. Came across later years, but nothing for the '97-'01 models.
Aside from installing new plastic door rivets(to hold the panel on), I would like to reinforce the door armrests and possibly the d/s control module(as it seems like half the controls are being eaten by the door), at the same time to knock out.
Wondering if anyone can share some suggestions or have ideas to reinforcing door panels.
Thanks!

Bump - hope you all don't mind.
I can't be the only one out there with a loose arm rest who has been on this situation and wanting the fix it.

you cant get just the handle you have to get the hole panel. the handle are held on by melted plastic tabs. but if your carefull take the panel off and on the back side you can see where the tabs come thrue. take a small drill bit and drill in the middle of them. then take a screw and washer and hand screw them into them and it will tighten them up. i have done this to my passenger door.

As for the, now, oversized mounting holes in the armrest I was considering on some sort of epoxy or something to basically fill it in and from there you would have a foundation to try and start again as if it never happened. Any ideas on the filler?
The other option maybe after the filler^ idea is to have some sort of a backing mount to kind of keep the screw head from making its way past the armrest into the handle again. I don't know, it's one of those situations that you can picture in your head just explaining it the touchy part.
Might be a while once I figure the custom panels out as the electrical controls is probably going to be the hassle trying to put into play. As soon as I do, I'll reopen this topic with an idea to share. Thanks all for the support! Just remember to answer the filler question idea???
