Welcome to CF. In your fuse box you should have either a round or rectangular combination flasher that is for both the hazard flashers and the turn signal flashers.

Hello all. This is a very useful thread. I just acquired a 94 xj and it had an alarm system in it that was a pos. Well unfortunately after tearing it out the xj will not start. Seems like the starter won't kick on. I thought the alarm intervention was only on the yellow ignition wire under the dash. Well that is patched and still nothing. I am at a loss. However other suspect wiring under that dash I cannot figure out is also in this picture so I thought I would ask. What is pluged into the IGN spot above #17? The white wire with black strip? Since it is not nicely tied down like the rest of the harness I am suspect. It runs to the cable which is activated by the thumb button on the floor shifter and runs up to the steering column. Why would this need power? Looks like the mechanical lockout for park. Also a white and red stripe wire ties into the same place on the cable and is plugged into a harness under the dash. Looks like a jumper.

I am having the exact symptoms of the NSS problems. I have ran the bypass in the plug to try and test the NSS problem. No reverse lights. No luck. Don't want to haul it to the dealer.

Sorry for the hijack but any info would be greatly appreciated.

Aaron

one of the most common problems with the NSS is that the inside of the component gets dirty over the years. the component is attached to the main engine body right next to the oil filter, hence the leaking oil getting inside it as well as the dirt from off-roading or just plain freeway crap. to avoid going to the repair shop and forking over a few hunners, a simple DIY can be done.

I did my own work on the NSS in my Jeep a couple of years ago and it costed me just $30, iirc. good luck.

Cherokee newbie here:
Can someone help with the actual location of the interior fuse panel?
Lost power windows while the wife pressed all 4 switches up at once! So hopefully just a circuit breaker?
I have an Australian/Right hand drive '96 Cherokee.
Thanks
Gaz

Sorry, I already found it. under the steering/above the pedals, you need to be pretty limber to even get your head under there to see it!! LOL

Sorry, but need to bump this. It's Aussie summer here, I have no aircon, so no opening windows makes the car unusable :-(

Ok, so I checked all these fuses, and at position 12 it is blown. Hopefully this is the windows.Just noticed that the photo I posted above (found in google images) shows a 30 amp fuse, but I have a 20 in there currently.
Should I go up to a 30 or replace like for like?
I'd really appreciate any advice.

Sorry for the slow response, but I've been sick.
Welcome to CF.
Always replace fuses with whats called for, nothing larger or smaller.

i know that im bringing back to life an old thread but the other day i had a weird thing happen. so only when my parking lights/headlights are on AND im doing around 50 mph my right blinker comes on and stays a solid green and when its doing that i try to signal and it acts like my bulb is out with the fast flashing. after i get out of the 50's it will turn off and everything is normal. it only acts like this with my right side blinker. anything i could check before tracking down wire

I found mine under the glove box. A few screws out and the bottom of glove will lift out for easy access
