Default Help with pO340 code and no start

My 2000 Cherokee 4.0 had a check engine light for a couple days and then I filled up with gas one day and went to start and it revved really high then went down to a really rough low idle, it wouldn't go anywhere too easily but luckily I was on a hill so I rolled down into a spot and shut it off, I hopped out and checked to make sure nothing had popped off, everything checked out so I started it again and it started fine and ran normally, from then on it would start really weird, it'd crank and fire a bit but not start, then I could just try again and it'd start and run a little rough but then I could just turn it off and start it again and it'd be fine. Yesterday I went to use a buddy's code reader and I turned it off and it just wouldn't start back up, it'd crank but no start, we read the code and got p0340 and did some research, changed the cam sensor because we took it off and it'd fallen apart, So next we changed the crank position sensor and it still hasn't changed anything, it cranks and cranks but no start, any suggestions? It acts just like the other time my crank sensor went bad but it's not starting after the crank sensor like it did last time. Any help would be very appreciated as this is my daily and need it to run. Thanks

It could be a number of different possibilities. But if you want a cheap and easy place to start, then make sure all your electrical connections are in good shape. Particularly the various ground connections that exist under the hood. It could end up being something more specific, but bad grounds = bad circuits = sensor codes (and all sorts of other strangeness).
