94 Cherokee steering column help..plz!
..afternoon everyone, hope your sunday is going great!
I've searched a few forums and google for this, to no avail..
I'm stumped on something stupid...I'm trying to get to my ignition, but I can't figure out how to remove, or even loosten the 2 plastic shrouds on the column. No screws or seams. The one closest to the dash has a "slot" on the left side, other than that, nothing.
Thanks!

What is wrong that you are "trying to get to ignition"??
The 94 still has the GM-style steering column.
Are you refering to any under-dash panels when you speak of these shrouds or are you referring to the plastic "tubes" around the upper part of column itself?
To remove those tubes will require removal of steering wheel, lock plate (PITA) and turn signal assembly and in some cases the the lock tumbler itself.
IF it is tilt, there are springs and the pivot assembly.
Three (or 4, IDR) torx screws then everything comes off the top of the steering column shaft.

You know the ignition switch is not in the column don't you. Hope that you are not trying to get to it that way.

The actual ignition switch is mounted on the top of the column, near the headlight dimmer switch. Characterized by TWO huge wire connectors from the right side.
IIRC it shares 1 of its mounting bolts/screw with the dimmer.
The switch is slotted for adjustment.
