I have a 95 grand and a 94 cherokee. The 94 has a electric fan along with a belt driven fan. Have noticed that electric fan comes on and air conditioning is not on. Not sure if this is normal or not for this model as my first winter with this one. It does not over heat but surprised that would be designed to be required in winter when cold outside. Have read a few chat's that sounded like could be normal depending defrost/heat settings also?

it will come on to help cool your motor, or if your AC is on, or if your heat/defrost is on.
