Had a good day today. Went to my buddy Ron's. We cut up my c gussets to clear the calipers, Checked everything for the drive to Sacramento, got his Vega street able and followed a guy around with no tire laughing.

Jeep mad it to Sac. with no problems. Nice smooth ride. Get home and go to run some errands and the Cadillac decides its time for a new fuel pump. Whatever. No big deal. AAA it home and get on the bike. Well. Bike decides its time for a new drive belt........... Call AAA and get the same lady and she sends the same tow truck driver. This is going to be an expensive month.

I pick up my Jeep on Monday. I sure do miss him. I have a kid in Sacramento following my OBA setup. I tapped his lines for him made movies and answered several questions........ His is a 2000. It was super easy. Just tap and die. My bike needs a tire, drive belt and everything to pull the primary. That's going to break me for a minute. First time tearing into it. Probably going to find several other problems. Keeps my hands busy though.

Go to pick up the Jeep and get 40 miles down the road and stop for gas. I notice there is oil dripping from the back axle. Climb under there and feel the diff cover and its boiling hot. I don't know what happened but it heated up so much that the fluid boiled out of my vent tube in the cab. Had the jeep towed back to the shop. What a day.......

Got it. Its a reputable Jeep mechanic so I'm not worried. It was just super inconvenient.

Got a chance to tear into the Cadillac. Traced the fuel lines to the filter. Guess the wix wasn't having it. Plugged itself up. I rebuilt the carb in December. Threw another filter in. Running fine. Jump on the freeway and crack open the 4 barrel expecting to lose a little traction. Nope. It starved itself for fuel. If I get some time this weekend I'm going to pull the filter and try again. Hopefully its something just that simple.

So It wasn't the filter. Going to drop the tank. Has a full tank. Need to get that out. Got a little jeep work done this weekend. Did the full circle snap rings on the axles. Used a hand held band saw. It was super easy.

Went to pick up the Jeep today. Rear end still has some issues. Mechanic threw in some spicer gears and what not. Got 50 miles down the road and it overheated and blew gear oil out the axle seal.......

Jeep made it home today. Doing 80 on the freeway for 60 miles the axle heated up to 190. Pulled it into my driveway after 30 miles of about 55 and it was at 150. Is this normal?

Got my front axle together. Going on an over night wheeling trip this weekend. Excited about that. I sure did miss my Jeep. Don't think I will ever leave him in somebody else's care again

I was concerned on one of my 90's. I happened to be "caravanning" up 101 with the other 90, so I checked it also. Both seemed pretty warm to to touch.
Maybe I'll borrow an IR gun and get a figure.

(I have a 72 Vega hatchback here Btw)
