hello,
im going to be upgrading my cherokee in alittle while and wanted to know what you guys think.
first, i plan on changing out my dana 30 vacuum disco to a nondisco out of a 92 cherokee. its a complete axle with brand new shocks for $100 so i figured why not. this is just a direct swap right? also, what should i do with my vacuum lines for the disconnect, just plug them?

second, i plan on making a bastard pack for the rear. my buddy gave me a set of leaf springs out of a dodge full size pickup, they're 2.5 inches wide so they should work right? i know it'll be rough but im used to the ride of a 1 ton pickup so the doesn't bother me. has anyone ever used springs out of a full size before?
sorry for the long post just trying to get my facts straight.

yes direct swap and one less thing to worry about. just plug those lines removed. sounds like you know what you're getting into on the leafs. you could maybe leave one out or flip the bottom one upside down to soften it up a bit.

haha PingPong i wish i could chop mine like that but its my DD so im trying to keep it that way for now
and thanks Chris87xj, do you have any idea what kind of lift this would give me? theres 5 leafs and one extra thick helper leaf on the bottom which ill probably be leaving out.

it's gonna be a trial and error thing but easy enough to play around with. I would defn leave that overload out. you could maybe keep your xj main leaf and slip three of the dodge leafs under that, then your bottom xj leaf under that. I'd guesstimate maybe 3" there, also depends on how much sag you've already got. the good news is that what you end up with will likely stay that way without much settling.
