87 Jeep radiator replacement
Well I finally did it, my 87 was in a accident by the PO, the radiator was bent in and the fan had done a number on the cooling fins. Bought one from radiator barn for 161.00 and did it today, 3 hours, most of that was trying to get the old bent one out and fit the new straight one in. Some key points are.
1. bring rope etc to hold hood open after you remove the radiator cover plate.
2. Zip ties come in handy when trying to keep the bent ac radiator out of the way.
3. 1/2 inch socket is your friend, don't even waste time trying to burp it, just pull the temp gauge out of the intake and fill, don't do like I did and almost overheat it....
4. PB blaster is very handy on 23 yo vehicles....
Thats it, she seems happier now.
