3" RC lift kit installed!!
Hey guys,
So I finally installed my lift yesterday and I can honastly say it was a religious experience!! Even though I presoaked all the bolts (well at least the ones I thought I would need to soak) and took my time, I still managed to break stuff. If memory serves me correctly, I broke the studs on both sides for the sway bar links and on the rear I broke one of the bolts that hold on the rear sway bar(no big deal, I removed the whole thing anyhow), 3 socket wrenches, one flat headed screw driver, and one 11/16 inch socket. From start to finish, it took me 12.5 hrs. WTF!!!
I have absolutly gained a respect for power tools. I started the project at 2:00 yesterday afternoon and did not finish until 2:30 this morning!! I had to make one trip to the local NAPA to get the front sway bar link kit and to my buddies house to borrow his breaker bar. Over all, I am EXTREAMLY happy with the final out come. I wanted a lift to give my XJ that tough look and be a functional aid off road and be able to keep my 235's. I have accomplished that. If you wanna see pics, go to my album's and see the original and then the lifted pics. I will have some pics of it off-roadin soon!! Thanks again for all the input you all gave prior to my install.

Couple questions for you. How many miles were on your stock suspension? Did you do an AAL or a full leaf swap? What other things did you buy besides the lift kit (e.g., SYX, Track Bar or whatever it is called, etc.)? And how does it ride compared to stock?
Thanks. Your ride looks great. I can't wait to do the work myself too,

To anwser your questions, My XJ has 126,900 on it, My lift came with an AAL and rear blocks but I did not install the blocks, just the AAL and new shocks are installed, I did not purchase anything extra besides the kit itself. If I could buy somthing extra, I would have bought sway bar quick disconnects. You have to disconnect the sway bar at the links any way to remove your stock coil spring, would have made more sense to replace them with aftermarket quick disconnects so I could fully utilize my new front suspension. The ride I can honastly say is BETTER than before. I contribute this to the new shocks (old ones were all shot) and the new front coils. I have no drive line vibe's and it tracks straight as an arrow.
Thanks for the input and good luck with yours. USE POWER TOOLS AND LOTS OR PB BLASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you planning on lifting your soon?? If so I would presoak EVERYTHING ASAP!!! I found alot of my front end bolts (lower shock mount bolts) had locktight on them. I dont know why but I do know it sucked. You will also benifit from a sawzall or disk grinder to cut the old center pin off your leaf springs. Using a hack saw is a PITA!!!!
