2000 xj turns over but no start...
THe jeep wont start and its got me really going off the wall.. no pressure in the fuel rail, i pulled the cap off and pressed on the nozzle and a LITTLE fuel exited... when i flick my key over my gauges do not read anything.. no volt reading or fuel on the gauges... I also don't think my fuel pump is turning on but It MIGHT be to quiet to hear.. It cranks and has good power, not the alternator or battery... The biggest ball buster for me is the fact my gauges don't read anything when its cranking and when i turn the key to the on position.. so this has me thinking it a electrical problem or possibly the fuel pump or crank sensor..... i really appreciate any help... thanks for your time, GLEN

Crankshaft Position Sensor. Same symptoms I had when mine went out. No bus, no gauges, crank/no start. Fuel was good.
If you crawl under your rig, driver's side rail, just behind the bellhousing you should see it plugged in. The sensor bolts to the top backside of the bellhousing. Part costs about $95, and getting it out was the hardest part. You can test it with a voltmeter, think you check the A and C spots and look for any resistance. There is a write-up in the technical write-up section.

Fuel Pump
When you turn the key to run the fuel pump runs for 3 seconds, thats the time to check presure at the rail. May be two seperate problems but mine was fuel pump. Mine would run for about 45 minutes and die so I replaced the CPS but it didn't help so 90 bucks shot. Have someone turn the key to run while you check presure at the rail. Every now and then I have to bang the dash ( right of steering wheel) to get my guages to come alive, only happend a couple times.
