2000 Sport, Heater Temp Control ???
My heater isn't working, When I turn the Temp control **** from cold to warm, The air temp does not change ??
The a/c works fine, The fan blower works fine, Just don't seem to have any control over the heater temperature??
I pulled the Control panel and everything looks fine. Nothing loose etc. Where is the motor that actually selects the cool/warm air ? It must be an electrical actuator because the temp control is a simple rheostat **** ??
Any suggestions on where to look ??

Hello, your heater problem is probably the heater control vavle. If you look on the passenger side engine bay you will find a plastic valve that the two heater hoses go thru if that valve is bad it will not let the coolant to flow thru the heater core and give you heat. Thanks, Brian

No Heater Valve!
Mine has no heater valve. The Heater hoses run directly from the Thermostat housing/Water pump straight through to the firewall core connections..And both hoses feel warm,??
Now I'm Really lost....
P.S. I have a Clymer manual but it doesn't show the temp control I have, It shows the sliding type and mine is a Dial that turns.(Rheostat!) There must be a trap door somewhere that directs the airflow through the heater core rather than the A/C ???
At least thats the way my ford worked. Maybe this thing is different ??

Don't know if its related or not but back in the summer I noticed after running the A/C for long periods, I would turn a sharp corner and get ICE WATER dripping on my foot !! There must have been some condensation taking place somewhere. And MAN WAS IT COLD !!!! ....LOL

seems like your blend air door is not allowing the hot air into the vehicle. try changing the vent setting like going to your feet only. if your heater core hoses are hot then you should be getting the hot air in.

I Geuss It Was Related !!
I geuss the water leaking was related. I just found the problem,
The Air Blend actuator motor/control board is FULL OF RUST AND WATER !! And the motor is Fried. Along with several components on the PC Board inside.
Question ::
Where the heck do I find a New One ??
It has some numbers on it :
790143H
A3192743C

I found an Air Blend motor in a Junkyard off of a Grand Cherokee. It seems that after 2001 they were all the same. $20.00 compared to $170.00 new from the dealer. Installed it and she works great again.
Still don't know whay the A/C was leaking cold water on my foot unless theres a drain line plugged up somewher....??
