I read alot of people like the Silverstars... even with the short life span some seem to experience.

I myself run an E-Code H4 assembly. IPF, HELLA make nice units, but i opted for a set of the Autopal's from ebay. Theres a very large thread on NAXJA with before and after pics of these lights if you want to read up on them. Very reasonably priced and i'm more than happy with them.

i have silverstars. i like them, and they were fairly cheap too. if you wanna upgrade, you can buy different wiring harnesses that help quite a bit from what i've seen. or look into getting some hella's.

Lifespam is 750 hours....do you have a link to this harness your talking about? or is it just the added relays to make sure both get 12v?

The color Temp refers to the Kelvin scale...silverstars are 4100 kelvin and the lowest superwhite HID is 4300 kelvin i believe.....so there BRIGHT for a halogen. Im ordering my set now.
