Engine: I6 4.0L HO, JBA headers, 99 intake, #703 injectors
broken rear shock mount
i just bought an 8.25 29 spline fresh out of a 00.. the guy cut everything to get it out so i bought it with 1/2 a shock on each side.. cleaning it all inside and out today i was removeing one of the shocks and the bolt twisted off with a 3/8 inch rachet.. is there any easy fix or is the only thing to do to get another shock mount and weld it on.?
also does anyone know what diff color would go good with a green jeep?

theres a few things. you could grind the threaded part of the stud flush with the part the shock rides on and drill and tap it and put a new stud in it with some red loctite. Make sure the stud threads in at least an inch. then when you put the new nut on grease the threads first.

Same thing happened to me.I cut the the threaded part and shoulder off flush and then drilled all the way through to the back side,and put a big grade 8 bolt with a 3" shoulder on it all the way through and a nut on the shock side of course.Took a while to step drill it out but its bomb proof now and easy to to just put a new bolt in if anything ever happens to it again
