Default 1997 Cherokee Gauges

Hey guys, I'm new here and I need some help. I just bought a 97' cherokee for $300, its been sitting for just about two years. the one thing I can't figure out is the gauges. Originally the check engine light, airbag light, etc. worked but non of the actual gauges. Then, i replaced the battery. Now the lights and gauges don't work....Illumination via the headlight switch has always worked.

Any Ideas?

You could try pulling the gauge panel out and making sure the connections are clean and not loose. I would start with that.

I guess I will have to pull the cluster out and see if anything is loose/corroded. I just didn't know if removing battery terminals and the rest of the lights dieing could possibly be related

I did check all the fuses and it wasn't that, however that was the problem when the illumination did not work, radio fuse does dome lights and gauges illumination
