Default Tight steering.

Looking for any ideas. I bought my 00' a year and a half ago. It has a salvaged title and it looks all original as far as steering parts goes. My problem is the steering seems stiff or tight. Seems like the worm gear is to tight but I have some play when I move the steering wheel back and forth. I lifting the front off the ground and I got better and then when I unhooked the stabilizer it really freed up. Stabilizer feels fine though when I work it by hand. I'm wondering if it's all in my alignment. My 30" tires are wearing just fine. Any suggestions?
