1996 Fuel Sending Unit
well today I found out that my ground wire on the sending unit is bad. and it keeps working and not working when it wants to. and I've looked for about an hour now on google looking for a fuel pump for this jeep the only place that I actually found the part at was an official chrysler dealer for about 600 dollars and honestly I don't have that kind of money to just blow on this. Does anyone know of somewhere else to buy a brand new one. please don't suggest a junkyard none of the ones around me even have jeeps and I am looking for a brand new part I am tired of dealing with this problem.

They aren't available any longer.
'96 has a one-year only fuel pressure regulator as part of the fuel pump assembly and when Chrysler's NOS supply of them evaporated, so did the aftermarket fuel pump assemblies. Nobody else builds the regulator.
You can buy the pump and the sending unit as separate pieces to repair your current assembly, but not the regulator or the complete unit unless you find a dealer with one on the shelf.
If it's just a bad ground wire- pull the assembly out of the tank and fix it.

So basically I'm stuck with the 600 dollar one from the dealer.. Because I just looked at those bosch ones that the last poster recommended and it's not the same one that's in my jeep that one is straight up and down. And the one I need has an angled out towards the front of the tank. And the connectors are different on the other available fuel pumps I've seen..

If just the wire is bad and you're sure of that, why not just fix the wire? Do you already have the whole assembly out? Post a pic. Gotta be one out there somewhere.
You didn't actually think they'd show the pump at an angle in the picture, did you? I'm sure it's probably the right one, but until you post a pic (assuming you have the whole thing out) we can't be sure.
Heres a guy with the whole assembly for sale, not sure if he still has it...

Here's the '96 pump:
The white plastic thing in the middle is the fuel pressure regulator. Rock auto shows the '91- '95 style rail-mount regulator for a '96, which is incorrect. You'll run into this problem a lot with a '96- don't trust what the parts guy tells you. Verify against your current part.

Yes radi that is exactly what I'm looking for. The dealer by my house said they can't find any either.. Now I just need to find that part. If I take it out again would the part number be on it anywhere?

possible that you have a salvage yard near? could go that route, just a suggestion if you didnt feel like soldering the wires. solder seems easier use a dry cleaner when you clean them though, brake parts cleaner is good for grounds, degreaser always leaves a slick residue.
