nss no start questions
A little backround:
I bought my jeep a few months ago and drove approximately 300 trouble free miles over a weekend. The following monday, I tried to start and it cranked and cranked, and would occasionally sputter as if attempting to start. There was plenty of fuel at the rail (I could smell a fuel-rich exhaust as well). There was spark, although a little weak, and the plugs don't look stellar. I was reading about the nss as a possibility for a no start and was wondering if it had characteristics similar to mine or if the engine wouldn't turn at all. I want to believe it is the nss because the reverse lights never worked on the jeep when I bought it. I also gave it a quick visual and it is gunked up on the outside.
I'm basically just wondering the characteristics of a problematic nss.

If it was your NSS it wouldn't crank at all. Mine is starting to go out. Sometimes when I try and start it in park it doesn't turn over. Then I throw it in neutral and it turns over just fine. But yeah if it were your NSS, it would be almost as if your battery were dead. Check your plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor
