Default Horns not Working

I have 95 Sport with cruise control that the horns haven't worked since I got it. I jumped both horns today and they work, the clockspring is broken for sure. The question is do I really need to replace the clockspring with one that has cruise or can I use either style? What year clocksprings will work on a 95? The air bag does not plug in to anything. I don't care if the cruise work, this is a project vehicle my son and I have been working on and it will be his first vehicle. How can I test the wiring from the steering column?
Any one who can help answer any of these question it would be appreciated.

Wish I could help but I dont know much about the cruise control. Mine is broken too but if I can figure it out then I will let you know what I did. Wont be able to look at it for a few weeks though.

Have you looked at the wiring schematic? they should tell you colors of wires to look for...once you find the wire you can check for continuity between them.

Can anyone give me a wiring diagram for 1995 that shows what wire go from the horn button down the column to the horns? I have a chilton's and it does not show it, the 95 seems to be the in between year. I'm looking to identify the wires so I can test the wiring. Also I also need to no how the horn buttons complete the circuit.

Mine was doing the same thing, so I took my steering wheel off and checked the wiring and the wire that goes into the steering column popped out, shoved it back in, worked ever since! Try it and see.

What I have found.
-Bad clock spring
-Bad relay

Went to Advance Auto and they sold me the wrong relay, surprise. Used a jumper and horn buttons work so I need to get a clock spring. Now the question is do I have to buy a clock spring that has the cruise control on it or can I buy the cheaper one with just the horn wiring on it. Again I do not care if the cruise works.
