Sounds like you have a short somewhere. I would go over the wiring you did for the radio with a fine toothed comb. HTH!!

i have an old saved wiring diagram but before i post it i will say sounds like your dimmer wire aint hooked up right which should be dark blue if you hook up the orange/white (aftermarket) to the dimmer wire or negative illumination wire on the factory harness which is blue/white dimmer there will be bad things that occur shorts blowing fuses everytime the lights are pulled common gm radio confusion and if u hook up everything that is orange together bad mistake dont do that. The dimmer wire dont put out 12+ constant so most aftermarket radios use the illumination wire. they sell a harness for single din jeep for like 20 bucks u can just wire it up. Ok heres the wiring

89 cherokee

Car Radio Battery Constant 12v+ Wire: Pink
Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: Violet/Orange
Car Radio Ground Wire: Black
Car Radio Illumination Wire: Orange/Black
Car Stereo Dimmer Wire: Dark Blue/White
Car Stereo Antenna Trigger: Gray
Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Green
Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Black/Yellow
Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): White
Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Black
Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Gray/White
Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Brown/White
Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): White/Black
Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Brown

i dont know if all the wires on mine are the same as yours but most were around this time

if your replacing the speakers 2 i would also point out in the back hatch there are 2 wires blue and black and they look like there disconnected donot connect these 2 ever u will short out your tail lights its the wires for a 3rd brake light which was optional id tape em both up and maybe label with masking tape
