My mufflers is pretty much dead. And a buddy of mine can get me a glasspack for cheap. Good or bad idea?

I just installed a thrush glasspack, 18" baffle and I like it so far. I attached it right after the stock cat, and do not have a tailpipe yet, just a muffler tip. At lower RPMs it sounds great and deep, but with higher revving I noticed a bit of "riceyness". I know it will get a bit more quiet when I add a tailpipe, but overall I think they are a good inexpensive upgrade. I'll be upgrading mine down the road to a flowmaster super 44, if you have the bucks, I'd say go with that.

Nice I wanted a thrush turbo cause it would be quieter than my cherrybomb so when I go trail riding up north to look find deer and **** I won't scare them, should I get a turbo or glass pack

I got a thrush glasspack on my 91 with a full tailpipe. I like how it keeps everything lined up better than with a offset muffler (where the outlets off to the left) it takes a little finesse to fit in there but its solid.

It has a nice rumble at idle. And is surprisingly quiet when you get moving. I wouldn't call it ricerish at all. It performs a lot better than the cheaper "performance" mufflers (like cherrybomb) IMO

I have a Magnaflow muffler on mine. Not sure what kind exactly. Cost a $100 bill. I wanted a flowmaster but he didn't have the center/offset in stock. I think my Magnaflow sounds pretty good for a 6 cylinder.

I have a Thrush glasspack on mine. Love it.

Wish it were louder at times, but quiet is good, too.
