Default 08 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Sorry couldn't find the right forum, my sisters husband has an 08 jeep grand cherokee and he accidently set off his car alarm and just tried to start the car to turn the alarm off and it killed the ignition and he can't start his car...what can he do to get his car to start? I told him to disconnect the battery let it sit for a little bit and then re-connect the battery and see if that works? Any advice would be awesome...he is stranded at the airport...thanks

Disconnecting the battery could have tripped the computer... My friend had a similar experience with his Oldsmobile and the only way to get is fixed was to tow it to the dealer so they can hook the computer up to it and do something.... I'm not completely sure..

For future reference, to turn off the alarm you just hit the panic button on the key. I once spent like 5 mins trying to turn it off by unlocking it, starting the car, everything just to realize I just had to click the button again haha.

Sounds like the key code and vehicle code can't agree and the vehicle has gone into lockout mode to keep from getting stolen.

If his owner's manual has a phone number for Jeep assistance, call it.

He might try relocking the vehicle with the remote, wait about one minute, and then unlocking it with the remote. Try to start it then.
