Past couple days randomly when I click on a thread it will go to an addware page that gives a pop-up saying that your computer has viruses and needs to be scanned and starts acting like its scanning my computer for viruses. I will try to get a screen shot next time it does it.

x2 this actually just happened to me. Its a pop up spy-ware. then goes to a different screen and then "starts" to scan the files saying there are virus in them then ask you attempt to close it out it keeps trying to scan and blah blah. if it happens again i will copy the link and screen shot. I forgot what thread i clciked on when it happened. Mine happened around 4pm west coast time.

That is a scam that will ask you to clink on a link and then try to sell you a virus scan program that does absolutely nothing but take your money. It is not actually scanning your computer, it is a fake scan that fools a lot of unsuspecting people into believing that their computer is about to crash.

i get that too sometimes like i'll just be on the internet and click on something and it will pop up. it tries to look like you have a folder open and acts like it's scanning then when you try to go back a pop up comes up saying you need to scan for viruses now. weird, i never heard of it happening to anyone else.

yeah I got that the other day but I have seen it all too many times. Its such a pain because you have to completely stop what you are doing and close down to get it to go away
