Default for sale/free thread- PNW area

Is it possible for the moderators to add a local for sale or for free thread in this section that is just below the wheeling area map. That is eithier a link to more threads posted for stuff for sale or for free so we can individually post or at the least if it is just one long on going thread at least it will stay at the top.

I have a stock roof rack for free. It is the chrome style that came with it.

we should find some one with a shop or some steelworking stuff and make a layout for skidplates...tranny, gas tank etc...itd be cheap if everyone wanted some and we had resources to cut and bend the metal...just an idea rather than paying $200+ per piece of armor

I moved this to the suggestions section, so it would be noticed. We do have that area already, just not local. I don't think that a local one would serve much purpose, but let's see what the other mods and admin think!!

i see there is a for sale section. the good thing about a local section is you can see whats in the area. shipping is easier to arrange and pick up is available.

some people may not want to deal with shipping so they dont post it.

it comes down to convience.

but no harm no matter what happens. we can always just post local stuff in the chapters we belong to instead of a dedicated section in each chapter.

I think it would be a great Idea to add forsale areas to the neighborhoods. 25 posts to create a thread still though!

The main one on the forum then would be a national for sale!

A lot of the things we sell are too big for people to want to pay the shipping charges to get it to them. If we had a FS area in the neighborhood section it would be a little easier for folks to access these larger items for pick up, and what not. I think a FS area in the neighborhood section would be of some benefit too.

I honestly do not see the point. You add 11 new for sale areas that will get how much traffic??? We don't get a whole lot of traffic in the for sale area we have now. Honestly I do not see the value in adding more areas like this. Just my opinion. Also do we get much traffic in the neighborhood section?

Depends on the section. I keep a pretty close eye on the FC section, and it gets a good amount of traffic. As the site grows, they will get more. I know sites such as NAXJA the neighborhood sections get tons of traffic. Like it or not, we need to look down the road to what would make this site the best it can be, and NAXJA is a good model in some regards. I just see a lot of FS threads about somethings like tires and wheels, which are extremely expensive to ship. So, to me, it would be nice to know that there was a regionally specific FS area that folks could sell larger items to folks in their area. IDK, just a fleeting thought. I think folks can use the existing FS area for that as well, so whatever is clever!!

I will agree in the future if we grow and have enough activity in the neighborhood areas then yes adding a for sale area would be nice for the local users. I just can't see the point right now since the activity in that area isn't exactly high. Some areas more active then others. I don't mind either way just seems like more areas to moderate for sale threads and having them one spot makes life a touch easier. Also when a poster wants to sell something as a pickup only item they can simply state pickup only and where it's located. Personally I think we need a for sale area setup like jeep forum has theirs setup. Nice clean and much more usable.
