also a lil question, do you guys plan on restructuring the page, I notice new ads between the first post of a page and the rest.. are there any more changes to expect?

Not really. I'm always playing around with stuff but I'm not looking to change anything major.
I do like a white background more than a dark background so I did create a style to see what it would look like. But I haven't decided what to do with it. Right now I'm just playing around.
You can switch over and see it with the drop down box on the lower left hand side of the page. Let me know what you think.
Don't worry though. I'm not out to make any major changes. I like the site the way it is.

I never have a problem with ads thanks to firefox, RIP, and adblock.
Change whatever you want, you will figure out very quickly if it works or not. Just remember what works on one forum isnt always a great idea on another forum with a different group of people.
The best forums are the ones that lay out very few rules and allow members to police themselves. IMO of course.

Forums are really all about the members who are apart of it. I'm just the guy who keeps things running and tries to stay out of the way.
I also agree the a basic set of rules is great and there isn't much need for anything else. Respect each other, don't post any illegal or questionable content... and have fun

Once again im gonna post without reading the whole tread though but I totally agree. I just joined but there is a totally different, friendlier feel than some of the other forums.

That is the premise that CF was founded upon and what has attracted ppl from various forums to us here. We are always trying to help and won't rag on some new guy who askes the same question that has just been answered twenty times in the last day. He is new and needs to be made to feel welcome first and foremost.

Were gonna have to set up a bot that pops up every morning with a stupid question. That way Stryker can flame someone first thing ever morning then he can get past it and on to buisness. LOL

It's good to hear that no major changes are taking place. This place is great as it is so why change something that works?
I think the question went unanswered or i may have missed it, but Nathan and Jon, what are your experiences? I mean what vehicles are you guys familiar with? Since you came from a ford forum i'm guessing that's your area of expertise? Do you know much about xj's? If not, that's ok cuz we got a ton of knowledge to share with you guys.

I don't know too much about XJ's. I own an old 1985 BMW and when you have a car that old, everything goes wrong on it, so you end up learning a thing or two about engines. Therefore, I know a little about cars/trucks and enjoy them very much. I'm looking forward to learning some more and sure I will just perusing around the site. I know Don (the previous owner) was in a similar situation, as far as not knowing a heck of a lot about XJ's.
Nathan and I really view our job here is to provide a great environment for people to learn about XJ's and enjoy a great community. At the end of the day, we are here to serve the community.
