There is a facebook page called SoCal Offroad Recovery, They organize all kinds of trail meets and runs and they have an SOS page as well to help people who get stuck out wheeling 7000+ members, so lots of events and runs all in the southern California area, I've been on two trails here in SB, Cleghorn and Dishpan. Look them up Cleghorn is easy to moderate and Dishpan is Moderate/Extreme. Whicher ever you do be sure you're well equipped and even better go with other rigs.

Calico
Calico Mountain just east of Barstow on I-15 incredibly beautiful colored rock, slot canyon trails, mines to explore (be careful, very dangerous drops) moderate to advanced gate keepers. Nice campground is very close to trails.
