Looks like a leather or vinyl tire cover. Also the little latches near the hatch opening, never seen those in a 97-01

That is 1998 5.9 Hemi Grand Cherokee Leather Tire Cover. That thing is thicker then some of the leather jackets I owned when I was a kid.

Edit: MoparNJeep pointed out a mistake I made. Magnum not Hemi.

For the manual window panel there is an additional screw in the top of the armrest going down in to a support box that is welded to the door. If I cut off that support box, I believe that the power window panel will fit on there and I can just drill the extra holes for it to go in to. I just wanted to see if I could find a manual door panel in camel before I had to do that, because I don't like cutting things if I don't have too. I also was unsure about what to do with the switch panels because I feel like that would look tacky with a window crank and window switches. Haha. But I may just stick USB ports where the window switches go to cover the holes. If I do decide to just make the power window panels fit, I'll have to find some of those because my junkyards are tapped out of newer body styles and I only was able to find the passenger side.
And I will take a picture of everything, to show you what I mean, when I get a chance.

It looks real good in there. Mine has black as the main with the door panels, center console, headliner and side vents on the end of the dash being tan. And when I am able to, I want to have black seats with tan running down the middle panels. But I have to say, I really like the black/tan combo.

Thanks! I was able to grab the back panels and they are the same as the manual window panels just with just the switch added. So they fit perfectly.

P.S. I like your profile name. I've been going through the whole show as of late. Haha.

Having a tough time visualizing what you are talking about. The piece I circled in the screen shot by chance? Here is a video about a power window install. Maybe it will help you determine differences between the two doors or help with a power window conversion.

Sorry it has been a while gents. Work has been crazy this week. I was going to get some pictures today but the Jeep had other plans. I'm about to roll this thing off a cliff, but if I don't I'll try to get pictures next weekend.

Ok everyone. I finally got something done! Work has been crazy and last weekend I ran into that problem with the door mechanism.

I had to drill the sucker with a hole saw so that I could get to the latch and rip it out.

Anyways... I also publicly declare my idiocy. I got the power window panel to fit:

That little box or tab that fits into the armrest of the manual windows panel and I thought didn't fit on the power windows panel; yeah it fit. Haha. For some reason I was having trouble the last time I tried. So I can use those panels, the only problem now is this:

I can't roll my windows down. Any suggestions? I was thinking of maybe a fold down roller? Like on a trailer's stand.

But with that here is what my interior looks like so far:

I have to paint the upper trim pieces, change the seats, get a front door panel in Tan for the drivers side (anyone selling them, send me a dm), and I just realized how gray the original black looks on the dash compared to the black I painted on the glove box.

Thinking that a roll down handle as you put it would be annoying but think that might be your only way out. Can't imagine you finding deeper window cranks from some vehicle that would work, fit the little gear, and clear the armrest. Notching out that section would most likely look like crap. Removing the black part and just leaving the armrest would result in a hole in the panel. Tough one.

I've been trying to think of other ways and I thought maybe like a doorknob type of roller? But that would take three times the effort to roll it down. Do you have any idea how difficult it would be to just swap it to power? If I grabbed the guts from a power door, or even the whole door itself, would it just plug in? I'' not sure if they ran the wiring harness for my rig.
