Default Overhead Console wiring harness

I am looking for the wiring harness for an overhead console. Also looking for the temp probe and wire for the outside temp gauge that is part of the overhead console. Let me know what you got....

Thanks, Bill

if your xj is a 98 and you have a 99 harness vice versa all you need to do is splice the wires from the console to connectors under the kicker panel/fuse panel. there should be total of 12 different colors just match up. on the 99 the larger connector have 9 wires and one smaller connector have 3 wire, the color should be black, yellow, and pink and it connect right into the fuse panel. on the 98 the 3 wires should be same color and plug in same way. 97-98 used 3 connectors 99-01 used 2 connectors that's what i saw different. in other word if you have harness from different year than your jeep it wont be plug and play.

Yeah, but I don't have a harness at all....lol

I am hoping to find one for a 98 but if I find one for a 99, I will buy it and swap with XJwonders.

Sorry to rip into a thread without searching, but does anyone know about adding the overhead temp guage and/or console to a 1998 Cherokee XJ which never had either? Any threads come to mind?

Rip into it all you want....its all about sharing information.

To answer your question, this is what you would need.

1 - overhead console
2 - harness for the overhead console (preferably the same year as your Jeep and the overhead console)
3 - temp probe and harness
4 - bracket to mount back end of overhead console to roof
5 - correct headliner (or cut the holes in your existing headliner
