That's typically NOT what sponsorship entails...
In my experience, sponsorship is a company seeing somebody doing something they like/want to put their name on, and then giving that person products/money to put their name all over it.
Now if Rough stuff wants to sponsor my youtube channel, I would gladly take that, but having to "buy in" to get a 30% discount doesn't feel like a "sponsorship" maybe a special discount, but sponsorship? not so much.

You are exactly right that is not what sponsorship TYPICALLY entails, we are trying something new out.
We do currently, and have been sponsoring racers in the traditional fashion for nearly 10 years, in desert, ultra-4, and localized off-road/dirt racing series around the country. We support not only individual race teams with killer deals on the parts they need to stay in the race, but we send items for group and club events/raffles all over the country as well.
A lot of folks gearing up for race, or even building season need to spend at least $500 somewhere on parts for their rig, I'm simply giving them a place to spend it where A) the parts are truly quality, and will last through many season of real racing, and B) they've got a chance at getting a year's worth of 30%-off sponsorship.
I'm not sure what someone would be sponsoring on your youtube channel... another 2 hour long unedited gopro clip from the roof your xj, but with their sticker in it??

Did you look past the first video? I have 90 videos on that channel with only about 7 or 8 being trail runs. (not a high viewing video I know, but I like them myself).
I wasn't asking you to, but I actually have two channels here is my other one:
https://www.youtube.com/c/aicproductionsvideo
Product reviews, vehicle repairs, what ever I feel like. One focused more on my jeep, other one leans more towards other stuff.
